Revolution!
OpenFootball still continue is way! By now don't expect anything playable, even if you manage to compile something from the source code, there's "only" test examples. ODE physics engine has been replaced by Bullet, and some old stuff was removed too (and still need some work to bring it back to something usable).
The animation system is still not here as there may be some licensing issue... Stay tune!

Still here, still alive :) Ok, it makes a long time since the last update! I know that I promise somthing playable before 2008, and nothing... Well, you have to know that when working on this kind of game, there are stuff easy to do which just require time, and stuff that are very hard and require the right way to do it. This is where the project is currently stuck. A football game needs a very good animation system, that's one of the key part, and that's one of the stuff I want to work on. I've read a lot of research paper, look how other game do this, and try some stuff without any luck until now. I waste a lot of time on standard keyframe animation, motion graph, and realize that none of this will make something good, at least when less than 50 animators work on the project (currently, none!).
So, I decided to look in the field of character animation synthesis, and look for something that's good enoug for a soccer game, and can be used in realtime on 22 characters! I hope to post news about this soon!
During the last 6 months, the engine of the game was updated, and now run and Max OSX and Win XP (even if it's not up to date, it works), plus some minor stuff has been improved.
From what I can see, there's a lot of (well, at least some) people talking about this project on their web pages or blogs. I really appreciate that, it's very useful to see people waiting for this project. It helps a lot when nothing works and I say to my self "it will never work".
Thank you!

Developpement is going on :) No more screenshot as rendering module as been almost untouch since last one. The core module will be the animation, and it's currently in developpement. There are a lot of other stuff to finish, bug to fix and optimization too.
A First playable "demo" (for an opensource project "demo" is maybe not the right word), and it should be finished before the end of 2007 (September or October).
Stay tune!
